High School Dean of Students

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Dean of Students to lead student culture by driving high behavioral expectations, leading character development, increasing scholar investment,developing teachers’ behavior management skills, and by executing a strong and consistent discipline system.

This position is a full-time position.

Requirements

·        Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of school

·        Minimum of a degree bachelor’s degree

·        2+ years experience preferred

·        Excellent verbal and written skills

·        Leadership Skills

·        Strong organizational skills

·        Ability to give and receive feedback

·        Data Analysis Skills

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Manage Dean’s Office and Disciplinarians

·        Issue Consequences

·        Ensure effectiveness of consequences

·        Communicate with families

·        Communicate with outside providers

·        Track and analyze behavior data

·        Lead Culture Professional Development

·        Collaborate with Principal in the creation of logistical systems necessary to protect student culture

·        Provide regular feedback to teachers on Behavior Management

·        Regularly audit School Culture

 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Responsible for tracking and sharing behavioral data with necessary stakeholders

·        Runs Detention

·        Runs mid-day check-ins with On Notice Scholars

·        Monitors progress of ISS scholars

·        Conducts Post Suspension Conferences, Send out Conferences, and RCPU conferences

·        Issues consequences for send outs and/or repeat offences

·        Conducts investigations referred from staff, students, and families

·        Gives regular feedback to teachers

·        Participates in evaluations of teachers

·        Creates Interventions for Tiered Intervention case load

·        Monitors Progress of Students of Concern

·        Ensures systems related to student behavior are running smoothly

·        Responsible for meeting Behavior data Targets

·        Responsible for culture events such as Town Hall, Knight of the Quarter, and Nerd Challenge Day

·        Responsible for communicating eligibility based on behavior for Extra Curricular Activities  

·        Responsible for student culture on buses.

·        Attends IEP meetings
