Mrs. Mcwhirt is originally from Richmond, Virginia and is the Principal at Tulsa Honor Academy Flores Middle School. She is a graduate of Arizona State University and received her degree in Nutrition Communication. Mrs. McWhirt began her career in education with Teach For America as a 7th grade teacher in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She continued to teach 6th and 7th grade in Houston, Texas eventually becoming Middle School Dean of Students. She and her family have returned to Tulsa after spending time in Phoenix, Arizona where Mrs. McWhirt was an Assistant Principal of Culture at an elementary school. In her spare time, Mrs. McWhirt enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. She is excited to be a part of the THA Familia because of her passion for working with the Tulsa community and helping all scholars and families achieve their goals.
